Collection: New to Adult Ballet?
It can be daunting trying ballet for the first time, or returning to a class a while after you last enjoyed it.
So, here are my suggestions to help you build your confidence.
SARAH'S STYLE GUIDE
- Leggings - Put these on first so they go underneath your leotard. My Crop and Full Length Leggings are both high waisted which means you won't get an elastic ridge around your middle! They are lightweight and surprisingly cool to wear and you will feel really supported in these.
- Leotards - Pearl and Ruby Leotards both have sleeves and a flattering leg cut, making them really easy to wear. Both will fit over your own bra, but dont be afraid to try my leotards without as they have extra in-built support. Pearl is my 'go to' leotard, I love the simple shape. I pull this on and I am dance ready!
- Shrugs - If you opt for a sleeveless or short-sleeved leotard style, my shrugs are a lovely option to cover-up your arms, or to just add a bit of colour and glamour.
- Wrap Skirts - These will effortlessly cover-up your bottom and thighs while allowing your ballet teacher to see your legs. They will also transform your leggings and leotard ensemble into something really lovely and "balletic"! Wrap these once around your waist so you have an inverted V shape evenly at the front, then tie the ribbon-tie at the back; done!
- Underwear - To be free or not to be! Let's discuss our smalls. I usually don't wear any underwear at all, either under my tights or leggings, nor under my leotards as they have extra bra-shelf support. However, and depending on your shape, I have designed all my leotards so you may wear your own bra if you prefer.
